Adams Football Real Time Game Updates

9/2 JV Highlanders Rebound against Farmington 35-7
In last week's contest versus Clarkston, Adams jumped all over the Wolves early and this week appeared that it would start the same. Farmington looked as if they did not know they could move on the kickoff as a short opening kick by Adams was pounced on by Avery Taylor, untouched by the Falcons. Unfortunately, the Highlanders did not capitalize on the miscue and turned the ball back to Farmington on downs. After the defense held Farmington to a 4 and out, Taylor ripped off a 53 yard run that had the Highlanders deep in Falcon territory again. Adams failed to capitalize a second time as they were intercepted inside the 10. Another 4 and out gave the ball back to the Highlanders on the Falcon 41. Zack Littleson, Jack Twitty and Ben Hart all had carries to set-up a Jeremy Ball to Jack Twitty scoring strike of 7 yards. A Britton Skinner XP point made it 7-0 Adams. ...More

9/2 Highlander Freshman beat Farmington 49-28.
Matt Sokol ran for three touchdowns and threw for one to lead the Adams freshman to the first victory of the season Thursday night 49-28 in Farmington. The 6-4 quarterback ran around and through the Falcons defense for touchdowns of 11, 46 and 30 yards. He ran for 143 yards and was 2 of 3 passing for 36 yards. (ALL STATS ARE UNOFFICIAL) 11 different players carried the ball as the Highlanders rushed for over 300 yards on the evening. Adams led 28-0 late in the first half when Farmington scored on a long pass play. Adams defense dominated the first half as the Falcons struggled to get a first down. Jacob Verploeg made a nice defensive play to break up a Falcon pass on third down forcing a punt. On the next defensive possession, Matt Shagena recorded a sack. The Highlanders would cause 4 turnovers, as Kaleb Halteman, Brendan Mamon and Parker Monahan all recovered fumbles and David Hurst intercepted a Falcon pass. Jack Addy and Brendon Ruehle also played well on defense. On offense, Press Kampe rushed for 92 yards and two touchdowns, Josh Bowling caught a 12 yard touchdown pass and ran for 21 yards and Austin Rogers rushed for 51 yards and a touchdown. Shayan Shushtari and Moritz Greiss shared the kicking duties and were a perfect 7 for 7 on extra points and gave Adams great field position with outstanding kick offs. Next up for the freshman is a home game next Wednesday vs Southfield Lathrup.

8/27 ADAMS TAKES DOWN CLARKSTON IN OPENER 17-7

Annese, No. 2, scores 2 TDs in Victory
There is nothing like a Top 25 matchup between two conference rivals to kick off the start of the football season. Rochester Adams ranked #14, made the short trip up I-75 to take on #22 Clarkston. It was a year ago that Rochester Adams watched Clarkston stymie the Highlanders 6-3 in a season-opening football game, played under monsoon conditions. Clarkston went on to finish the regular season 9-0 and eventually reached the state semifinals. Adams got its measure of revenge Friday night on the road in the season opener for both teams — this is the sixth time in the past seven years the two have opened the season against one another — this time leading the whole way in a 17-7 OAA crossover victory. As to be expected on opening week, both defensive units were dominant in the first half. Adams kicker Cameron Casey booted a 25-yard field goal late in the 2nd Quarter which capped a 15 play, 70 yard drive for the Highlanders. ...More

8/26 JV HIGHLANDERS EDGED IN OPENER 36-34
    Game Photo
The JV Highlanders opened the 2010 campaign against a familiar opponent, the Clarkston Wolves. It did not take long for this high scoring affair to get started as Jack Twitty raced 31 yards up field on the third play from scrimmage. Two plays later Kyle Niswonger rocketed up the middle for 30 yards and into the end zone to put Adams on top. An Evan Skiff XP made it 7-0. Adams failed to capitalize on a Clarkston turnover deep in their own end despite a 14 yard Jeremy Ball to Andrew McBride hook up and a 13 yard run by Zack Littleson which took the ball inside the 5. An Adams fumble gave the ball back to the Wolves who returned the favor 3 plays later when Jack Twitty picked off a Clarkston pass. This time the Highlanders got the job done on 7 straight running plays as Jack Twitty went over from 5 yards out on 4th and goal. The XP failed and Adams led 13-0 with 5 minutes to go in the 1st quarter. ...More

8/26 FRESHMAN FALL TO CLARKSTON IN SEASON OPENER 20-12
The Rochester Adams freshman football team opened their 2010 season at home Thursday night with a heartbreaking loss to Clarkston 20-12. Clarkston scored two touchdowns in the last three minutes to come from 12 points back to earn the victory. Adams took the opening kickoff and marched 70 yards down the field behind some fine running by Kaleb Halteman and Jordan Shive. Quarterback Matt Sokol ran the last 2 yards for the season’s first touchdown. On Adam’s second possession Sokol found Press Kampe for a 35 yard pass completion on third and long keeping a drive alive that would end when Sokol threaded the needle on a beautiful pass to Kampe for 20 yards and a touchdown. That score would put the Highlanders up 12 – 0. Clarkston got on the scoreboard with less than a minute to go in the half when its defense intercepted an Adams pass and returned it 15 yards to the end zone. The extra point would make the score 12-7 at the half. ...MoreGame Photo
